Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Harp awarded first prize at the Chicago World Fair, 1893. The competition at the World Fair included both the making and playing of a Welsh triple harp. The harp's maker, Tom Lloyd (1858-1917), was from the former slate-quarrying village of Llangynog, in Montgomeryshire, mid-Wales. He was buried at the nearby church of Pennant Melangell, but spent a good deal of his life in Pennsylvania, and clearly he lived in West Pawlet, Vermont, in 1893.
