Jug and cover

Meissen

Jug and cover, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a foot rim, pear-shaped body, thin neck moulded with alt ozier basket weave pattern, up-turned spout with fish-like head and male mask terminal, elaborate scroll handle, domed cover with moulded flower and stem finial, moulded with a border of alt ozier pattern above rim; decorated in polychrome enamels with natural flowers, on one side with a spray of flowers with a poppy and pink, yellow and blue flowers, opposite a spray of flowers with a pink rose and orange, yellow and blue flowers, purple sprig under spout, two sprigs, one blue, one purple to neck, mask painted, cover decorated with a spray of purple and yellow flowers and three sprigs, two blue and one purple, gilt highlighting to spout and handle, gilt border around rim of cover.
