Bent, rusted, and exfoliated iron fragment, perhaps from a bucket-handle. It may be suggested that the right-angled bend at the right of the drawing is due to damage, and that the piece originally formed a smooth curve. to right and left the section is circular, but the central part of the handle had been hammered flat and then folded inwards to provide a strong and comfortable hand grip. The two ends would doubtless have been hooked. A fragment of a somewhat similar handle is known from Cahercommaun (fig 32, 54) and there is another probable eg from Bokerly Dyke (PLCLXXVI, 8), published as a 'fragment of twisted iron, perhaps a torque'.
