Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
In the form of a S-scroll with knobbed terminals and a corresponding knob on the outer face of each side of the 'S'; there is a rectangular plate attached to each side, each with a rectangular loop at the back. These plates have bands of incised ring-and-dot pattern on the inside and zig-zag on the outside. The knobs of the original were decorated with concentric rings of red and yellow(?) opaque enamel, and the plates had narrow panels with alternating triangles of red and yellow(?) opaque enamel. This arrangement is replicated here.
Site Name: Chepstow, Monmouthshire
Notes: the original is said to have been found while excavating the foundations of a house and is now in private possession (anonymous)
