Modulator

J. Curwen & Sons Ltd (Printer)

Modulator chart used to teach Curwen method, using Sol-Fa notation. Octave range represented on paper, with cotton mesh backing. Moulded wooden rod affixed to top of chart, to which is attached two brass rings, previously used to secure chain. Round wooden rod also attached to bottom of chart with iron nails (also used to secure top part). Three small nicks in paper and some discolouration at bottom of paper. Cotton cord attached to top of chart, inscription on reverse made with ink, by hand.
