Decorated slate slab

Roberts, Bob (Mr) (Artist)

Carved decorative slate. Circular pattern based on flowers supported by semi-circular shapes. Flanked on each corner and supporting the patterns are four repeated symbols. Three holes are drilled through the slate all being within the art work, one of the holes is drilled in the centre. The carved artwork on Ffestiniog slate was prepared by Mr Bob Roberts of Rhiw, Blaenau Ffestiniog during the 1930s, as part of his apprenticeship at the Oakeley Slate Quarries, Blaenau Ffestiniog.
