Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
WOOLLEN CANVAS, embroidered with coloured silks in cross stitch. At the top in two rows, separated by a narrow horizontal band of Greek fret pattern, are capital and small letters of the alphabet and numerals to 11. In the middle is a verse together with the maker’s name and date. The surrounding space contains conventional floral, tree, bird and other designs including a crown with the initials G R, mostly arranged symmetrically in pairs. There is a floral wavy stem border on three sides.
