Dish, pie, and cover

Wilson

Pie dish, buff-coloured caneware, oval shape with slightly concave base and straight sides, the exterior sides modelled with an applied wreath of fruit and foliage strawberries, grapes and pears, a pattern of decorative incisions around the foot-rim, the edge of the lip-rim moulded with a decorative running foliate pattern, oval domed cover with to the centre an elaborate finial in the form of a bowl with moulded edge surrounded by decorative rolls and leaves of clay, some of which have broken off; the interior of the dish and the underside of the cover glazed, the rest of the dish and cover left a buff colour and unglazed.
