Ltd., Cardiff. 1944 – Transferred to Atlantic Shipping & Trading Co. Ltd. 1947 – Sold to Dolphin Steamship Co. Ltd., and renamed IONIAN SEA (managed by Stathatos & Co). 1951 – Sold to Attica Shipping Co. SA, Panama, and renamed ATTICA (managed from 1954 by Faros Shipping Co. Ltd., London). She was broken up at Hong Kong in 1960. Many of Tatem’s ships were named after towns and villages in his native north Devon; the Monkleigh, built in 1927, was one such vessel.
