Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Dolphin form with Colchester B spring arrangement. The axial bar is held by a central lug behind the head and the chord by a circular lug behind the crest. The pierced disc terminals of the fairly flat side-wings provide further support. The side-wings are plain except for a small band at each outer end. The crest has a short ridged tongue. To each side of the head of the bow is a semi-circular raised band, which join up beneath the head to form a continuous band. The bow is of circular cross-section and tapers to a tiny knobbed foot. The catchplate is ornamented with delicate openwork; at its upper jointing with the bow are two small raised horizontal bands.
