Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Approximately (<50%) of a circular, flat-topped upper stone. The concave (7 degrees) grinding surface has a herring-bone pattern of grooving. There are slight traces of overlapping grooves, indicating that the stone has been redressed. Other surfacesare pecked. The central perforation, 55mm in diameter widening to 78mm at the top, has a raised lip. These are no rynd chasers on the underside of the stone and no evidence of a handle slot.
Lithic: fine grained igneous.

Site Name: Porth y Rhaw, Solva
Notes: Excavations undertaken during the summers of 2019, 2021 and 2022 at Porth-y-Rhaw coastal promontory fort, Solva, Pembrokeshire (SAM PE-273), revealing occupation and finds of Iron Age and Romano-British date. The project was funded by Cadw, the Nineveh Charitable Trust, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and The National Trust. The entire archive for this excavation was created and stored in digital format and is not held by Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales.
