Teapot and cover, unglazed red stoneware, press-moulded octagonal body, flat base, straight sides, and flat top with a recessed cover having a large ball knop with central steam-hole, scroll-shaped spout, and loop handle, an old replacement in metal. Moulded all over on the two long sides with the double version of 'The Indian Boy' pattern of a small naked boy holding a peony crouching among formal scrolled foliage, on the four short sides with a seated man in classical armour and a standing draped female, and on the two end panels, shoulders and cover with scrolled foliage. The spout has the boy on one side and foliage on the other.
