Cream tureen, bone china, oval shape, standing on a short pedestal foot attached to a spreading base which flares upwards at the rim, rounded curving sides, to either end of the body a horizontal loop handle with an inner ring and spurs to either side, oval domed cover with rim flaring upwards, a rounded indent ot the rim at one end of the cover, to the top of the cover a vertical loop handle as those on the tureen; the tureen and cover decorated with around the exterior upper body of the tureen, the foot, the base and the sides of the cover, a wide border composed of a design of raised moulded flowers and foliage reserved in white against a pale blue ground, the lower body of the tureen painted in polychrome enamels with a border of flowers and foliage on the same blue ground, a narrow band of gilt leaves on a dark blue ground a round the tureen where the foot joins onto the lower body, gilt bands around the rim of the base of the tureen, the foot-rim, the body of the tureen, the exterior lip-rim, the rim of the cover and the top of the cover, the handles on the tureen and the cover painted gilt. The base of the tureen cracked.
