Pair of women's leather shoes, about 1925.
Leather T-bar shoes with c. 3.5cm high broad heel, 1-shank button fastening. 4-petal design on centre front of vamp and on both sides: created by cutting out the leather and adding inserts, possibly formerly of a contrasting colour. The shoes appear to have yellowed and may formerly have been green. The shoes have leather soles, nailed leather caps on the heels, heel counters, cream twill fabric vamp lining, leather (?) insoles; size 3 1/2 printed on inner heel (more legible on right shoe). It is assumed that the core of the heel is made from wood.
