ANDREAS. Built 1917 as GLENLYON by Charles Connell & Co. Ltd., Scotstoun (with engine by Dunsmuir & Jackson, Glasgow), for Rio Cape Line, Newcastle, managed by Furness Withy & Co. Ltd. (Neptune Steam Nav. Co., Norfolk & North American Steam Shipping Co., Hessler Shipping Co.), London. 1922 Renamed INDIAN PRINCE (same owners and managers). 1936 Sold to P.S. Georgilis & A.I.Cosmas of Syra, Greece, and renamed ANDREAS. 1941 Acquired by Shimantani Kisen K.K., Kobe, and renamed WAKATSU MARU. She was attacked and sunk during an air raid by the RAAF off the north-east coast of Timor on 17 December 1943.
