Seated figure of the elderly Wellington, white earthenware, crackle glaze, rectangular plinth with a wavy front, inscribed in gilt script. Figure in contemporary dress, largely gilt and white, white trousers and coat and waistcoat, gilt bow at neck, naturalistically painted face, with black feet and grey hair. Legs crossed, resting right hand on the spine of a book placed on his knee, legs crossed, resting his head against his left hand with his left elbow placed on the arm of the chair, left foot resting on a book. Ornate Victorian chair with a padded shell shaped back. Chipped nose.
