Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Dessert dish, oval, Nantgarw porcelain, press-moulded, white body with good clear translucency and lustrous glaze, extensively overpainted (now discoloured), standing on a shallow foot rim, plain rim, the lip moulded in six large and six small lobes; painted in the centre with a mallard drake, swimming wreathed in flowers and reeds, a second smaller bird, black head, purple body and blue tail perched to right, a landscape with tree behind, all in an elaborate quatrefoil gilt cartouche comprising four rayed C-scrolls, containing sprays of polychrome flowers, and linked by large gilt scallops amid tulip sprays and ribbons, deckel gilding to lip.
