Early 19th century Windsor-type armchair with elm seat; spindle-back design with hoop support; bow formed from 3 lap-jointed sections; lap-jointing secured by 3 metal studs; through spindles are wedged; spindle H-stretcher and 4 spoke-shaved splayed legs; the date 1850 carved on underside of seat (possibly denoting date of repair rather than construction).
