Soft toy of Orinoco based on the children’s television programme The Wombles, first broadcast on the BBC in 1973.

Since the 1950s, many of the most popular toys and games in Wales have been inspired by iconic BBC children’s television programmes.

Soft toy made from white plush fabric with quite long 'fur'. Face, hands and inner ears made from brown napped fabric, soles of feet and upper ears made from white napped fabric, eyes and nose made from plastic. Hair made from grey plush fabric. Wearing a knitted red fringed scarf and a red hat with wide, floppy brim. Black hat band with circular badge machine-embroidered with the letter 'W' stitched to centre front. Hat and shawl are stitched in place. Can't stand up unsupported. woven label sewn into seam at rear left leg.
