Early Medieval copper alloy strip

Thin plate or strip of bronze, decorated with punched crescents. While the left hand edge is certainly original, it is possible that the right hand edge is not, and that the piece we have has been cut from a loger strip. A number of corrosion holes penetrate through the plate, but the only hole which is certainly original is that on the central axis; this has a marked collar both internally and externally. The affinities of the punched ornament are Teutonic rather than Celtic.
