EC2-S-C1 type Liberty ship built 1944 as ELOY ALFARO by Bethlehem-Fairfield Shipbuilding Corp., Baltimore (engine by Babcock & Wilcox Co.), for U S War Shipping Administration, managed by Smith & Johnson, New York. 1947 – Sold to Honduras Shipping Corp., Puerto Cortes, and renamed NORLUNA, registered in the Honduras. 1948 – Renamed ELOY ALFARO (same owners). She reverted to NORLUNA again in 1950. 1950 – Sold to Eagle Steamship Co., Piraeus, and renamed AURORA, managed by various New York agencies, she was transferred to the Greek flag in 1963. In May 1966, she sprang a leak and was abandoned 300 miles east of Cape Race where she is presumed to have sank. (ref :- mariners-l.co.uk) (7seasvessels.com)
