Mug, very pale cream-coloured earthenware with a very soft greenish tinge to the glaze, moulded foot-rim, cylindrical sides, rounded lip-rim, plain loop handle, to one side of the interior of the mug a moulded figure of a toad; transfer-printed in black with to the front of the exterior body a design of a coat of arms with an anchor to the centre, a sailing ship above and two sailors carrying flags to either side, on a scrolling banner to the bottom of a coat of arms is printed the inscription "DEUS DE DABIT VELA / MARINERS ARMS", the design overpainted in red, blue, yellow and green enamels, a black band around the exterior lip-rim, the toad to the interior of the mug painted in brown and orange enamels. The body of the mug cracked and repaired, the foot-rim chipped.
