Edward III half groat
Part of a hoard of gold and silver coins found near Presteigne in mid Wales. The hoard was lost towards the end of Owain Glyndŵr’s revolt, about 1412-15. A sign of increased wealth and trade in this period, it can also be seen as a reflection of chaotic times.
