Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
A composite tool, a blade end-scraper with a burin. The scraping edge is the distal end of a large, thick blade. The retouch forming the scraping edge is steep and neat. Core abrasion scars indicate that the proximal end of the blade was originally the core’s striking platform. A burin spall has been struck from this platform after the detachment of the blade from the core. The burin has a stop-notch towards the scraping edge of the tool, although the burin removal itself has suffered from more recent plough-damage which is evident along both the lengths and at the striking platform where the original grey colour of the flint shows through its white patina.
