Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a shallow foot rim, globular body, c-scroll handle terminating in moulded leaves, scroll spout springing from a moulded mask with flowing hair; decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt with two scenes, one of a chinoiserie figure kneeling in front of a table and another crouching by plants, the other comprising a chinoiserie figure in an elaborate hat standing before a table, another bent down, surrounded by flowers, deer-like animals to right, both within gilt and purple lustre cartouches, surrounded by iron-red and brown scrolling, spout and handle decorated with sprays of flowers, gilt to end of spout, area beneath spout decorated with a bird (or phoenix), deer-like animal, rabbit and rock beneath handle, gilt border to foot rim and shoulder.
