Cup, tea and saucer

Meissen

Teacup and saucer, hard-paste porcelain, quatrefoil shape, tea cup standing on a foot rim, flared sides, scroll-shaped handle with thumb piece, quatrofoil-shaped lip; decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt, sides decorated with four alternating white and yellow panels, each containing a spray of Holzschnitt Blumen, ornamental gilt borders between panels and to inner and outer lip, gilt border to foot rim. Saucer standing on a foot rim, spreading sides, quatrofoil-shaped lip; decorated in the centre with a spray of flowers, surrounded by four fan-shaped panels, alternately panels of yellow and white grounds, all containing sprays of different flowers, ornamental gilt border between panels and to lip, two gilt borders and a brown border surround central spray, gilt border to foot rim.
