Wholecoth quilt made in 1886 by Mary Williams (née Miles) of Berthlwyd Farm, Quakers Yard, in preparation for her marriage. She later moved to Hendre Hall Farm, St Mellons.
Top cover of printed cotton sateen, plain pink backing fabric. Carded wool filling. Quilting pattern consists of spiral filled heart in centre surrounded by circular fan within rectangle containing tulips in each corner, six paisley motifs and four quarter fans. The remainder is filled with spirals. Outer border of curved leaves and circular motifs surrounded by chain, on a diamond trellis ground. Circular fans in each corner surrounded by spirals.
