Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Welsh Museum Answer Book received from Lewis T. Evans, Rhuthin, (Cyffylliog, 1882-1975) and containing notes on weather customs, traditional medicines, agricultural sayings, proverbs and principles of carpentry involved in cart making, all during the period 1880-1920.
Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
