Blade end fragment of socketed axe. Moderate splaying of sides to form expanded cutting edge with slight recurving at sides. Axe break has removed all upper and middle axe surfaces, therefore undiagnostic to type. Base of socket evenly shaped, however some bubbling visible in break surface suggesting possible casting defects. Cutting edge well preserved. Blade has deep crescentic curve. Striations on blade bevel parallel to the blade edge provides evidence of sharpening and possible use. Casting seams visible, though worked down. Green patina.
