ESSO SUWANEE (298gt). Coastal tanker launched as EMPIRE GARNET by Rowhedge Ironworks Ltd., Rowhedge, Essex, but completed in 1941 as EMPIRE LAD. 1946 – Sold to Anglo-American Oil Co Ltd., and renamed ESSO SUWANEE. 1951 – Company restyled Esso Petroleum Co Ltd. 1960 – Sold to P L Den Breejen, Netherlands. 1963 – Sold to Compagnia Comercio Navigazione Alpes, Panama. She was converted to a 331gt dry-cargo vessel and renamed USA. 1966 – Sold to Autco SA, Panama and initially renamed PEJEREY, then renamed ESTEREL. 1968 – Sold to Columbo Shipping Co., Panama, and renamed WESTEREND. 1970 – Sold to Albina SA., Panama and initially renamed SUNRISE, then renamed GRACE. 1971 – Sold to D.P. Gousetis, Greece, and renamed CAPTAIN STELIOS. 1975 – Sold to C. Dagadakis, Greece, and renamed SAN LIBERAL. 1977 – Sold to E & G Kottis, Greece, and renamed KLEOPATRA. 1998 – Renamed GRIGORIOS K., and registered in the Honduras – she was still in service in 2004.
