Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Village wedding', showing a village scene with in the foreground a number of figures dancing, playing musical instruments and sitting drinking, thatched cottages in the background, on a jug to the bottom right of the scene are printed the letters and numbers "W / K / C / Rd / 15 / 5" within a diamond shape, around the bottom of the scene is the inscription "THE VILLAGE WEDDING. TENIERS PINX", the print enclosed by a narrow circular border of small flower heads. The glaze crazed, the edge of the top of the lid chipped.
