Lanceolate shaped pegged spearhead. Pronounced central rib tapering down the blade from the socket with a slight concavity between the upper socket and the upper blade tip section. Circular shaped socket with interior tapering to a point down centre of rib. Blade has bevelled edges and is broad for this lanceolate form (i.e. approaching elliptical). Approx. 3.0mm blade tip fragment has broken off since discovery (as a corrosion weak point). Striations along blade edge indicate sharpening. Nicks along both blade edges indicate use wear. Shallow longitudinal striations visible on spearhead surfaces. Casting seam down one side of socket visible and worked down. Shape of peg hole (c.30.0mm from socket mouth) has been poorly formed during casting. Slight casting flaw visible as pitting (bubbling) on one rib side, however not serious enough to prevent usage of this spear. Green patina over much of the spearhead, although one face has black patination (tenorite) and patches of bronze shining through.
