Small souvenir decoration from Chile. Hat, guitar and bottle adhered to blue felted cloth cut in the shape of a poncho.
Featuring a hat, a guitar and a bottle on blue synthetic fabric ground. The ground fabric is folded in half, with the crease line along the top edge and the halves adhered together.The blue ground is in the shape of a trapezoid with the bottom narrower than the top. he hat is in the upper centre. It has a flat crown and wide, flat brim. The side edges of the hat are trimmed with a red, white and blue striped synthetic ribbon, with crossed-over ends. The edge of the brim is trimmed with red, white and blue braid. Narrow pale brown strips of soft plastic (faux leather) extend from underneath the hat. The PR strip is looped around the handle of the bottle. The bottle is made from black plastic and the handle and lower part are made from, and covered with, braided strips of the faux leather. The guitar is on the lower PL side of the souvenir. It is made from faux leather, dark brown thin card side edges, a black painted wooden stick and yellow thread is used for the strings. The assembly is framed on three sides (bottom and sides) with strips of faux leather which has been cut with zig-zag edges. The side strips extend and are folded over to continue on the reverse to join up with a horizontal strip along the bottom edge of the reverse. The six tuning pegs of the guitar are drawn on in black. The word CHILE is written onto the crown of the hat in black marker. A brown, shiny adhesive has been used throughout which has almost failed. A small faux leather loop for hanging up the souvenir has been attached to the back.
