Maps of British Mines Rescue Stations

Collection of maps showing various British coalfields, probably showing the mines rescue centres, that have been cut out and glued onto two pieces of white card. Eight maps printed in black ink on cream paper which have then been attatched to the white card. Areas on the maps are numbered (handwritten), and there is a key below identifying the name of the area.
The first document contains four maps showing: 1. Cowdenbeath, Heriot-Watt, Coatbridge, Kilmarnock, Auchinlech. 2. Boothstown, Wrexham 3. Ashington, Benwell Tower, Houghton Le Spring, Crook, Brigham. 4. Wakefield, Brierley, Barnsley, Doncaster, Wath, Tankersley, Rotherham. The second document contains four maps showing: 1. Stoke, Hednesford, Nuneaton, Dudley. 2. Cinderford, Rhymney Valley, Crumlin, Porth, Loughor, Brynmenin, Midsomer Norton. 3.Chesterfield, Mansfield, Ilkeston, Ashby De La Zouch. 4. Aylesham. Documents 88.98I/7 - 9 were originally contained within an acidic card document folder.
