After removing a damaged plate a wooden baton framework was put in place and the rivet holes marked on the batons; the baton framework was then laid over the new plate for it to be cut to size and a thin centrepoint driven through batons to mark centres of rivet holes on new plate; then batons removed and these marking pegs dipped in white paint and used to mark new rivet holes to align the hole punch
