Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Small rim fragment of a crucible. Probably of the shallow triangular form similar to those from Glastonbury Lake Village (Bulleid and Grey 1917, 300-309), Gussage All Saints (Wainwright 1979, 130-132) and Collfryn (Britnell 1989, 126-7) dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC. The rim is rounded and there is a thick layer of copper slag on the internal surface.
Site Name: Merthyr Mawr Warren, Bridgend
Notes: Exact site not known, but possibly the Early Iron Age settlement site about 1000m WSW of Candleston Castle
