Plate, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain with a greenish translucency; standing on a foot rim curving into straight spreading sides; painted with set pattern 232 - an Imari influenced design, of an octagonal cartouche in the centre, with a red oriental vase on a stand, containing a large pink peony and smaller red flowers with pale green and gilt leaves; wide underglaze blue border with two quatrefoil cartouches containing flowers in red, gilt, and overglaze blue, between four scroll-shaped cartouches, containing stylised phoenixes and flowers; gilt lip.
