Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Petticoat, 1940s.
White camisole under garment made in 4 main pieces with a CF and CB panel and 2 side panels which are gathered in at the top of the seam near the bust line. Made from a mixed weave of cotton warp with a synthetic weft. Wide shoulder straps and pink machine made lace detailing around the neckline and hem depth 2.5cm. Made by machine but probably produced by an amateur as some areas are not finished very well and lines of stitching are a bit wobbly. There have been adjustments by hand also, the shoulder straps have been shortened and the waist has been tacked to make it smaller. There is also a small hand stitched repair on the proper left side of the hem made in grey thread
