Lantern slide

Thomas, T. H. (Arlunydd Penygarn) (Artist (attributed to))

Lantern slide used by the donor's brother Frederick Evans in a lecture on Welsh Folk lore depicting the rebirth of Taliesin. It is likely that T.H. Thomas 'Arlunydd Pen-y-Garn' was the original artist.

This slide is part of a collection given to St Fagans National Museum of History (previously The Welsh Folk Museum) in 1967 by Lt.Col. Llewelyn Evans of Llangynnwyd who was the son of 'Cadrawd' (Thomas Cristopher Evans, 1846-1918) a prominent historian and antiquary. Papers relating to 'Cadrawd' are in the St Fagans National Museum of History Archive collection se MS 1406/1-10; MS 1409/1-2; MS 1468/14, 24-5, 53-88, 90-5 and MS 2187.
