Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Note in the hand of T.H. Thomas ('Arlunydd Penygarn'; 1839-1915) stating that - "This harp (Telyn deires) made by a Llanrwst maker, belonged to the last of the old-style harpers of the Conway Valley "Will Ellis" who played at the White House Capel Garmon. In his last illness he was attended by Dr William Hughes of Canol y dre Llanrwst, who obtained the harp. At the sale of Dr Hughes effects 18 or 19 years ago, it was bought by Mr W.J. Roberts (Gwilym Cowlyd) and from him bought by me". [1893]
This specimen was sold by T.H. Thomas to the Cardiff Museum in 1904 for £5-5-0 (Accession No. 04.25 - It was afterwards transferred to the new National Museum of Wales and subsequently to the W.F.M., St. Fagans.
