Sauce-boat

Chelsea Porcelain Factory (Factory)

Sauce-boat, soft-paste porcelain, standing on four short feet, rounded base, rounded curving sides with leaf-shaped section, shaped rim, short spout curving over to one side, the feet, underside and lower portion of the body moulded with a spreading spray of stems, leaves, flowers and strawberry-like fruit, rustic handle modelled in the form of a twig with a moulded stem issuing strawberry-like fruit entwined around the upper part, moulded leaves spread onto the body from the upper terminal of the handle and moulded flowers issue from the lower terminal; painted in polychrome enamels with to the exterior sides of the body sprays and sprigs of flowers, a spray of green leaves to the interior bottom of the sauce-boat, the moulded stems, leaves, flowers and fruit overpainted in pink, green and red, a chocolate edge to the lip-rim and spout, the handle painted green with the moulded leaves, stems, fruit and flowers overpainted in pink, green, red and blue.
