cotton print in shades of green with scattered 'paisley' motifs in red, brown and mustard; (with matching pelerine: F87.43.2); wide neckline, self-piped; back fastening (hook and eye); sloping shoulders; bodice front decorated with self-piping and self-fabric covered buttons; lower edge of bodice is piped and stitched to skirt all around, leaving pointed and boned front to hang free; sleeves close-fitting at top with decorative band of 5 covered buttons and pleated frill; lower part of sleeves fully gathered at elbow, then curving and narrowing to close-fitting wrist; hook and eye fastening slit at wrist; full skirt evenly gathered all round at waist; 2 side seams and centre back seam; skirt and sleeves lined with white glazed cotton and bodice with white calico; all original stitching is by hand.
