Plate, earthenware, standing on a narrow foot rim, the sides cushion moulded, gently spreading and rising, waved outer rim, the rim moulded with foliate scrolls and pendulate sprigs; transfer-printed in black in the centre with Imari style flowers and foliage, issuing from a baluster vasedecorated with a dragon and standing on a grass and rock detailed surface; the flowers and foliage painted within the printed black outlines in iron-red, green, turquoise, blue and yellow, the surface in pale pink with two butterflies in blue hovering above the flowers; the rim transfer-printed in black with four large sprigs of similar Imari style flowers, detailed in the same polychrome enamels, the outer rim with a running band of vine and berries, bordered on the outside by a band of pale peach-gold lustre.
