Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Eisteddfod prize bag/purse. Flat bag made from white and green fulled wool. Edging of pink silk, trimmed with gold-coloured metal-thread fringe. Front features appliquéed and embroidered Welsh dragon in red. Reverse made from fulled green wool with appliquéed/embroidered scroll reading: 'Cymru fy ngwlad' (brown, red, yellow and white silk on white fulled wool). Upper back of bag extends and folds over as a pointed flap with pink silk loop fastening onto white glass button encased in pink silk (on front of bag). Handle of pink silk ribbon (width=1.8cm). Inside lined with pink silk. Interlining of tightly woven glazed tabby linen. Green moiré ribbon stuffed inside bag (length 86.5, width 5.3cm). Ribbon has 3mm wide selvages of satin weave.
