Drawing knife
A type of drawing knife known as a cooper's crumming. It has a blade which combines both a straight and hollowing section in the same tool. Its purpose is to combine the function of backing and hollowing a stave without changing tools. The blade is 10 1/4 inches long, of which two thirds is flat, the remaining portion being bent round in a smooth hollowing curve. The handles are turned down in the same plane as the blade. The right handle has broken off and is missing. The wooden handle on the left handle is also missing. (Details from Dictionary of Woodworking Tools, R.A. Salaman.p179 -180) G.Beech 25/09/12
