Large bowl, hard-paste porcelain, thickly potted, footrim, overhanging rim, thick viscous glaze, painted in 'famille rose' enamels, the well with three Chinese figures in a blue and pink tented structure, the figure to the right kneeling, the central figure with an upraised sword and with a further figure immediately behind, the cavetto part painted with a frieze of ten figures in a perfunctory landscape, the figures variously holding plants, fans, tea bowls etc., the ledge rim painted with a continuous border pattern of pink and blue peonies and green and olive foliage between iron red bands, exterior freely painted with bamboo in iron red.
