Tazza, earthenware, in the shape of an ancient Greek kylix, standing on a short pedestal with spreading foot, the main body plate shaped with gently curving spreading sides, plain horizontal loop handles to either side; the decoration reserved against a black enamel ground, so that the red earthenware body is revealed, this then transfer-printed in black with to the centre of the dish a winged cupid reclining against a pile of draperies with a bow below, border around the centre of the dish of eye-shapes issuing anthemions which are enclosed within an arching line, a further border to the rim of pendant lines on a red ground.
