Blue textile covers with silver lettering on front - R175462, Board of Trade symbol and 'Continuous Certificate of Discharge' printed underneath. Oblong cut out of cover to show signature on first page. Pages numbered inside 1 - 26, only first two boxes filled in when the owner of the book - Mr T. J. Bowen - served aboard the PETERSTON and IDDESLEIGH in 1938. At rear of booklet is attached another booklet entitled - 'Member's Contribution Book, The National Union of Seamen'.
