Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Milk jug and cover in hard-paste porcelain, foot ring rising to a bulbous, pear shaped body with shallow fluting, sparrow beak spout, scroll handle moulded with a scalloped line at centre, the handle surmounted at the top and bottom with a moulded heart, the domed cover with a wide flange, shallow fluting and a raised circular knop; bulk export ware painted in underglaze blue with 'Nankin' landscapes featuring pagodas and trees separated by a river, a man riding a horse across a bridge whilst shielded by a fan-bearer, a fisherman on a boat, beneath the rim of the jug and on the cover is an elaborate composite border pattern of scales, flowers, foliage and trellises, plain bands of gilding to rim, foot rim, each side of the handle and to the moulded hearts, knop and flange added in London.
