Emergent doll made from a wooden spoon, dish mop and kitchen implements
Part of the Edward Lovett collection of dolls
A doll made out of kitchen implements: a wooden spoon and a dish mop form the face (the bowl of the spoon has painted hair and features) and hair (the mop end) which is partly painted black. The wooden stems are dressed in a dish cloth, a blue and white checked duster, a blue and white linen mat with a fringed edge. A thick white metal napkin ring is clasped around the waist and sticking through it is a toy meat knife/fork/spoon set. Stitched to top of mop is a crunched up paper doily 'cap' with paper bow. Same paper bow also tied around neck. Various kitchen implements form the arms, the right hand ending in a partially sharp claw. Torso is stuffed.
